Working at Home with Twins
My Story - How I Became a WAHMI knew very early on that it was very important to me to be the one raising my children , especially when they were little. All parents realize that our children just grow up way too fast and I did not want to pay someone else for the chance to watch my kids grow up while I went to work!So I started my search. I looked into so many things and I came across many different "working at home" opportunities online, even tried a few along the way. It's funny , but I think in your journey of being a parent, sometimes you lose yourself along the way under all that laundry and dirty diapers. A lot of us love being home with our kids, but the financial reality is that most families need two incomes to survive. The internet to me is the most amazing tool because it allows us to connect with other adults without having to leave our house with 2 screaming toddlers attached to our legs! And that is where I finally found my answer. I did my research - I wanted to build a business that was mine - a website that was mine - something that I could create that would enable me to help with the bills and be home with the twins (the older two are in school!). I watched the video on the home page My first thought was ' I could do that !' As long as someone could teach me the ropes, I knew I could do this because if I'm not playing with my kids ( or doing laundry) I'm on my computer ! I decided to check out some more things and reviewed their case studies which was fun to see all the real people, and then looked over their proof of success and just really felt in my heart that this was the most amazing chance to create something of my own. I knew it would mean a lot to my children too, to continue to have mom here with them,before and after school, working at home or not, I am here for all the hugs and homework and 'boo-boo's that need kissing. You see everything that I've learned about computers and the internet I have learned by doing. Not to date myself too much , but in high school we had typewriters, not computers. I had never built a website, I didn't know what an RSS feed or a Blog was, had no idea about HTML code or any of the technical stuff ! I could send emails , that was about it! Now it's a few months later and I've created this amazing website ( the one you are visiting right now!). It generates hundreds of visitors a day, helps out all the new twin parents out there with information and resources, allows me to be in control of working when and how I want to , has showed me that I'm more than capable of running an online business, and now makes money daily just from advertising and referrals. I've had so much fun creating it that my husband and I are building another one ! Lake of the Woods Angler - his passion ( not mine ! LOL) Why am I Telling You This?I believe that everyone knows a lot about something - or is really passionate about a hobby, a cause or a place to visit , and that if they could share their knowledge with the world, they'd be happier and healthier doing what they LOVE rather than working for a living. So many people tell me that they would be happier working at home. Lots of people have a great idea to build a website, but they just have no idea where to start. A lot of moms 'lose' themselves once they start having children , and having twins takes up so much of your time and energy. By being able to create your own future, on your own terms, you gain self-confidence, self-esteem, AND allows you to raise your children with your values.To me, working at home is the best of both worlds.
