Yes...wake them!

With my other singletons, I wouldnt wake them. But with twins..if you dont, you will have baby constantly. We have the girls on the same schedule. Now from time to time, one will want to sleep more than the other. But I dont let it happen. I will wake the other up if the other one is awake. I let it happen once and they were all messed up for the rest of the day and by the end I was exhausted!! Never again!

Wait and See

My twins are identical and did everyting at the same time eat/sleep/poop/pee...EVERYTHING. For the first week or so I just tried to see how it would go so I didn't wake them but I found that as soon as one started to feed, the other woke or woke as soon as the first was finished. So my decision was made for me.

Thanks for your comments! i am due some time in May and have been "studying" up on twins as much as possible. It makes sense to feed them at the same time.
What other things should I do at the same time to make twin time easier?

Yes. Generally you don't want to wake sleeping babies... BUT with twins, you want to wake the 2nd one when the 1st one wakes up to eat! Otherwise you'll never get any sleep!!

I didn't wake mine

They were very different eaters - one baby ate a little, often - one ate a lot and less often. I nursed my twin babies and I co-slept with them at night so I fed whoever cried and went back to sleep. I can't imagine bottle feeding twins at least in the beginning before they can hold the bottles themselves. You'll have to meet your babies and get to know their styles and what works for you. The first few months will be crazy no matter what you do :) But it will get better as they grown and get on a schedule.

wake them!!!
by: Sharon

Hi there i can remember thinking the sam thing when i was pregnant with my twins. I always lived by the "never wake a sleeping baby" theory but i can assure you i only did double demand feeding for 2 nights!! i found that one twin would wake and it would take 30mins - 1hour to feed him and then i would just get back to sleep and the other would wake! So then i tried feeding one then waking the other when he was finished but that meant i was awake for 50% of the 6 hours sleep i was getting, i eventually gave up and hired a twin feeding pillow and fed them together. When i gave up breasfeeding it got even easier as i would just put both of them in the bouncer and feed them together then. MUCH BETTER!
