Hi-
Sounds like you're having a really rough time with your beautiful baby girls. Routines are really important especially with twins. Do you have them on a schedule? Eat, then play, then nap ( then you nap, or have some time for yourself before doing it all over again.)

Are you going in to get them as soon as you hear fussing or do you let them cry for a while?
Does one twin sleep more soundly than the other?
I would suggest separating them into two cribs or a crib and a playpen, IF you feel that they are disturbing each other and that is resulting in the powernaps instead of real sleep. At this age they should be able to have one morning nap, one afternoon nap, and be down for the night after dinner.

Having a consistent bedtime/naptime routine- the same each day, lights out, door closed, music on( if you use it).Make sure they are changed and fed and safe and comfortable and put them down to sleep and walk away. It wouldn't hurt to speak with their pediatrician as well - just in case there's another issue like gas or reflux that is bothering them.

Good luck and keep us posted!
Kim

Two Cribs
by: Natasha

Our girls were having the same problems, and we put them in their own cribs and from that night on they have slept through the whole night (its been a little over a week now) We have a crib on each side of our bed and swith babies each night (seems to work REALLY well) If there is not enough room in your room for two cribs, make one night his duty and the next yours, and keep switching. GOOD LUCK!!

Two cribs
by: Shelly Cunningham

I would definitely recommend two cribs. I wanted my boys to share one, but it just caused more problems than it was worth to have them together. Now they have their own space, and even if one wakes up, it doesn't necessarily cause the other to wake.
I would also recommend white noise & music. I use a fan & a soothing lullaby CD. I play it only when it's time for sleep & I think that it signals to the boys that it's time for some shut eye.
I hope some of this helps.
Good luck!
