38.5 weeks
by: Anonymous

I had my twin sons at 38 weeks 5days. I was induced. One placernta 2 sacs. Both were head down. Twin A was born vaginally, 6lbs 14oz. After twin A was born, cervix closed back down to 5cm and would not dialate. Twin B had a heart rate that kept dropping and at times could not be found. Doc decided to do a emergency c-cection and Twin B was born 35 mis later at 5lbs 12oz.

one placenta; two sacs
by: Anonymous

One placenta, two sacs are identical twins and they will be the same gender. This means that one sperm fertilized one egg and the egg split in half and became two, thats what makes them identical! They will have differences in some things though b/c they will not have split in perfect halves, but their DNA will be 100% the same-pretty cool huh and not totally understood-its like a random event!

I had my identical twins at 38.5 wks and they were very healthy, both just under 6lbs. My doctor thought I was at 37.5 though and said he'd have scheduled a csection if he had realized it, but they monitor you very closely, like I went to the doctor 4 days a week at the end.

TTTS is a monitiored when they share a placenta, so it is good to eat lots of protein and get your iron!

One Placenta
by: Katie

Hi,
I had twins boys that shared a placenta but had two sacs. This means they are identical. I delivered them at 36 weeks and they were 5 lbs, 5 oz and 5 lbs, 10 oz. I believe that sharing a placenta isn't as complicated as sharing a sac. Be sure you ask your doctor.
Good Luck!

One placenta
by: Brenda

I had only one placenta but two sacs and carried to 38 1/2 weeks. It is still high risk just as with any twin pregnancy.

Do you have one placenta and only one sac?
