I take one prenatal multivitamin and one folic acid pill everyday. I guess depending on the prenatal vitamin, you might need to take an extra folic acid inorder to keep the other baby safe. My OB told me to take the extra pill last week when I found out I am carrying twins. I am 12 1/2 weeks and trying to do everything right. If your doctor does give you the ok to take the extra supplement, I must tell you that the extra folic acid has caused me some major diarrhea. So be prepared.
