Twin Pregnancy and spotting?

I have been having occasional brown discharge and spotting for the last couple months. My Dr. seems pretty unconcerned. She put me on pelvic rest but it seems to be happening anyways. Did anyone else experience something similar? I'm 20 weeks pregnant, no cramping accompanying the spotting and no other twin pregnancy complications (ruled out placenta problems). I really want to know why this is happening and if I should be concerned.
