Sleep Routines
by: Kristin

I just figure they will get it when they're ready. Our girls are never with anyone but my husband and I, unless we visit with friends or family, so caregivers are N/A for us. Our pediatrician is great, he says that for some reason our culture is all about having our babies sleep 12 hours a night all by themselves, and there are very few other cultures that believe this. He says if we are OK with the way things are then that's all that matters. Sure, I would love to sleep all night, and I know it will happen. Best of Luck!

sleep routines???
by: Anonymous

Well, I was hoping for a miracle I guess...maybe since yours were older you might have figured something out : ) My twins DO wake up 3 or 4 times during the night, but I always put them back to bed. I think that's why nap times are easier, cuz they don't mind sleeping in the bed per sey they just love to nurse ALL the time. I found a web site and its called Babblesoft.com and it helps with keeping track of your babies sleep routines, nursing and so on. I just haven't found the time to list everything down yet. YOu might like it cuz it's for other caregivers as well...so they know what your schedule is for the babies. It is a great concept, but like I said I can't find the time to actually sit down and input it all. The same reason I can't scrapbook, take a bath...etc. LOL!

Sleep Routine
by: Kristin

Hi Eva! We are also having a hard time with sleeping through the night and I know it's my fault. In an effort to be awake for the shortest time possible, I nurse my girls when they wake up in the middle of the night because I know they will go right back to sleep. I am trying really hard to only nurse once each in the middle of the night and sometimes it works and sometimes not.

The other problem we are running into at 11 months is that in an effort to keep my sanity I have always nursed my girls to sleep and now as we are working on weaning, they are hsving a very difficult time falling asleep on their own.

Sorry for the rambling, I guess I just want you to know that we are going through the same thing, you are not alone. Let me know if you figure out how to get them to sleep through the night :-)

I was just wondering if you have a sleep routine yet for your twins? I have 7 month old twins and just STARTED a regimen...no success as far as sleeping thru the night, but naps are getting a little easier. I was just curious to see if you've had any success with a night time sleep routine. Mine still want to nurse 3 times thru the night!! I would lve some insight from a mom going through the same thing : ) Thanks in advance! Eva

twin carrier
by: Kristin

We got the carrier from doubleblessings.com and it is made by Maximom and was $115. All of the straps are adjustable to fit people of all shapes and sizes. We absolutely love it!

Where did you get the carriers? Are they available for women that are fully developed? :)

Nursing twins
by: Kristin

The nurses in the hospital were so wonderful in helping me figure out how on earth to nurse 2 babies. After I decided that I am committed (which this is a committment) to nursing, formula was taken out of the equation. Even when the girls started losing weight, they would not let me offer formula, I just had to nurse more often. They first had me "master" nursing one baby at a time. By day 3 I began tandem nursing, stacking pillows around me. When we got home we ordered the EZ2 Twin nursing pillow, which I highly suggest (we ordered it from doubleblesings.com). A boppy is much too small to nurse 2 babies at a time. I spend most of the day nursing the girls together, and it seems that they now have "their side" which is fine with me. I try to nurse them by themselves at least twice a day just so that we get that special time together. I am nursing every hour and a half to 2 hours (except at night), and we just started incorporating oatmeal with breast milk twice a day (to spread out 2 nursings a day) as the girls are 20 weeks now. I hope this helps! I'm here to answer any questions you may have. Good Luck!

nursing
by: Anonymous

I would love to nurse my twins but I was wondering if you could offer some insight as to what a good method is. Do you switch sides or does each twin only nurse on one side? Do you supplement with bottles also? please advise Thanks
