Twin Birth Story-Proof Miracles Happen!

On February 6, 2009 I found out that we were expecting twins! I was shocked...how did this happen? We were only having two children...now three? I called my husband and shared the news and he could not believe it! We took in the news and after digesting it...we were overjoyed with what the future would hold!
At my 14 week doctor's appointment I started having contractions...so I was put on light bedrest at home. I was able to make myself food and take showers...but should take it easy all day.
On April 14th we went for our big ultrasound...congrats, both of your boys are healthy! They look great! We were so happy to find out we would be adding two more boys to our family! Our oldest son, Draves, who was turning five at the time, was soooo excited at the thought of two baby brothers!
The morning after our ultrasound I had to go to the hospital with possible leaking fluid. They did several tests that came back positive...my water had ruptured at only 18 weeks! Panic took over and we were devastated. I was put into the labor room to have the babies that night. I cried...my husband started making his way back from being out of town working...and we waited for nature to take its course. The doctors said to expect delivery within the next 24 hours to 7 days.
My husband and I have a deep faith in God and we believe in miracles...we prayed that if it was God's will, that these babies would be fine and we would have an opportunity to raise them and love them and guide them as they grow throughout their lives!
24 hours turned into 1 week, another week, and another week! The doctors could not explain how I was not in labor, but were thrilled. I stayed in the hospital on total bedrest...no bathroom privileges or anything! It was hard...but with the life of your unborn twin babies at stake, it was easy!
I stayed on strict bedrest for the duration of the pregnancy. Labor started at 32 weeks and with medication they were able to stop it once again. We delivered our twin boys on August 13, 2009, at 36 weeks!
Our sons, Gavin Charles, 5lbs 9ozs and Bryson Monroe, 5lbs 10ozs were handsome and healthy. The boys came home with us two days after delivery! They are such a blessing to us!
If you are on bedrest...hang in there because this time will pass! I often wonder why I did not take it in and relax more...because things are really hectic and crazy with the twins now!
As I look back on the pregnancy and what my husband and I went through...every trial, every tear cried, every positive test result...brought our family closer together and we would not change it for the world!
