Christmas 2009 with our twin babies

Christmas 2009 with our twin babies

"God touched our hearts so deep inside, our special blessing multiplied! "
I found out that I was pregnant on May 1, 2009. We were so excited to be expecting our 4th and last baby. We were hoping for a boy, but happy to have a healthy baby no matter what the sex. I had two dreams in the weeks to follow that I was having twins. I laughed them off with the rest of my family. I started having cramping in my left side around 5 or 6 weeks. My dr thought I should have an ultrasound to rule out ectopic pregnancy. There were two dots on the screen when I went in for my ultrasound. I kept realizing I wasn't breathing throughout the ultrasound and had to remind myself to breathe. The tech didn't say a word. After she left the room and came back, I asked "are there two"? She said "looks like it". I laughed soooo hard all the way home. In this moment where I could laugh or cry I broke out in laughter...uncontrollable laughter. I got home and told my husband he needed to sit down. He said "it's twins, isn't it?"
Long story short...my baby girls are phase 1 TTTS survivors after I spent 13+ weeks on horizontal bedrest.
Ashlyn and Brenyn were born at 36weeks, 2days. Ashlyn Rae (my donor baby) weighed 6 lbs, 4oz. and Brenyn Grayce 6 lbs, 3oz.

God is sooo funny giving us 2 more girls after trying for 1 boy! Filling our home with 4 girls and 1 boy. We couldn't be happier!!!!

We have a lot in common too!!!
by: Nicole

I also have 5 children however unlike you we were NOT trying for a 4th child!! As a matter of fact I had the IUD when I found out during a routine exam that I was pregnant. Our baby girls were born on March 9, 2010. We have 4 girls and a boy and are very blessed with our newest additions. Your babies are adorable and I wish you and your family the best in the future :)

Congratulations!
by: Anna

Congrats on your beautiful babies! Our stories are so similar! My husband and I were also trying for a 4th and last baby and hoping for a boy! I know what you mean when you say you laughed and cried when you found out - i thought I was going to need a wheelchair to wheel me out of ultrasound when i found out!
We also ended up with identical girls that were phase 1 TTTS survivors. Madison and Malia were born 9/25/09 at 38 weeks - 7 lbs 4 oz and 7lbs 1 oz! We now have 4 girls and a boy as well, and we couldn't be happier.

Laughter!
by: Dana

Thanks for your story! Kind of similar to ours. I, too, couldn't stop laughing after receiving the exciting news of being pregnant with twins. I didn't have to say a word to my husband, either, when I arrived home. He guessed it by the crazy way I was smiling and I just showed the picture of the ultrasound. Our fraternal twin girls join their sister and two brothers (we also have 5 children!). Hope you're having as much fun as we are! Our girls are now 1 yr and 7 months.
