Twin babies sleep help

by Priyanka Khurana
(Hyderabad, India)

My twin babies boy and girl are three weeks old. They sleep only in our laps and are awake if placed on bed. What should we do? Both of us are tired all the time. Please help.

Boppy pillows
by: Anonymous

I LOVE my boppy pillows. My fraternal boys would not sleep in thier cribs, so I put them on thier boppy's at night and have had no problems since. They are now 4 months old. One is sleeping in his crib and the other is sleeping in his crib with the boppy. They still get up every 3-4 hours for a feeding, but it has been alot easier on us. Good Luck

Sleeping cradle swings
by: Gillian

We bought 2 Fisher Price vrocking cradle swings. Our twin girls slept in those for the first few months and I must admit, whilst they were expensive to buy, they were well worth the money. I dont think we would have had any sleep if it wasnt for those cradle swings. A great investment!!

It's a skill
by: Anonymous

My pediatrician told me that our babies had to learn to put themselves to sleep. It is a skill...just like crawling, talking, feeding themselves. It is more difficult on the parents b/c we have to sit by while they learn to soothe themselves. My husband and I swaddled our two for a LONG time. That seemed to make them feel secure enough to sleep in their cribs. However, there were nights when we had to let them cry (as long as we knew they weren't wet or hungry or in pain). It was not easy but now that they are almost 10 months old, I am glad we did it. My baby girl will go to sleep with just her blanket for comfort and my little boy has to have his pacifier but after a bath and a bottle, we can lay them down in their cribs and they are asleep in just a few minutes (most of the time before 8:00)! You figure out what works for you, but if you can take a few nights of off and on crying...they will learn to soothe themselves to sleep. I hope you get some sleep soon.

Sleeping issue
by: Anonymous

Place them to sleep in a boppy pillow. That worked for us as we had the same problem. My twins are 1 now and sleep well.
