Twin Skin

Twin Skin

Pregnancy #4 & 5 i guess, lol, wrapped up into one. To my absolute shock, more shocking then the news i was having twins i think, lol, no stretchmarks, no twin skin, which i read about the whole twin pregnancy & feared, no big pooch, i mean i expected the worst and was absolutely shocked to avoid such things, that seemed inevitable with twins, especially considering i got twice the size of my singleton pregnancies, with these two. i went to 37 weeks. i'm now 2.5 wks postpartum, this pic was taken at 8 days after. the marks on my belly are from my binder i have been wearing to help aid me in my twin pg. recovery & not stretchmarks. i'll post pg. pics when i have some time & a new pp pic shortly. i just wanted to say, it may not seem like the norm but there must be tons of us out there, who dont post online to share the after effects, so have hope please, if i can bring any well needed hope to anybody i am glad to do it! anything would have been worth these two miracles, but there is never anything wrong with wanting to look your best, for yourself, but regardless we are all beautiful & very lucky ladies! congrats to all the twin mommies! ps- oh but my belly is still soft, but it'll get there, lol. its not like how i left the hospital for sure.

YOU ARE WELCOME!

You sound just like me, lol. Google can be a girls' worst enemy! The babies' health comes 1st, but there is NOTHING wrong, with caring about yourself as well, but like you said, the kids always matter most, but heck, if you can prevent these things, I know you, me, and nobody else would complain for sure:)

I am not sure if i have submitted my 9 week PP pic or not, but it's pretty much back to normal, so I couldn't be happier. you can search for it, if it doesn't show up, i'll go and submit it today. Also you can see it on the site I started. I got a pic page there, where alot of belly photos and post partum pics are under photos. twinpossible.com.

congrats on your pregnancy & good luck to you!

Your post made me feel so much better! I try not to google and I went through a lot to get pregnant, so I'll be happy and forever grateful once my babies arrive no matter how I look! But your right, I want to feel good about myself too and now that I near the end I couldn't help but google twin skin! I have a very similar body type, so this gives me a lot of hope! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks so much:)

You are very welcome, i really had NO hope after looking online and watching my body stretch, i sort of mentally preped myself for the worst, so i was pleasantly suprised things turned out as they did. i'd urge you to NOT spend hours googling twin belly pics, and post partum photos like i did (though i shouldn't be one to talk, i'm saying this in hindsight now) lol.

i won't say that it took away joy from the pregnancy, but made me mourn my former self the whole time, and it's just not worth the anguish, especially when there is hope, and not everyone is the same, and you can do things to improve the odds. i'll update with a new pic tomorrow, i have zero time right now to do that, but twin life is crazy fun, trust me, i was very nervous about that aspect of things also, and much better then i anticipated. Stress and worry just aren't worth the time and energy they take from us, honestly.

Anyway YES i did use a couple cheap potions, anybody can afford. Palmer's belly butter, which i didn't see out there with my last. it's IMO better then the lotion, and plus it smells just DELICIOUS!! Later on when my skin felt tight and a bit on the itchy side, i added the palmer's soothing oil, for dry, itchy, skin. (same exact brand and aisle). i'd even use them one on top of the other during those final months. Morning & night, i applied the butter. Highly recommend it.

OH and a word about genetics, my mom has had only 2 children, and joked at me..haha, no more swimsuits for you (yes my mom IS that way, sadly. I have no idea why but it has helped contribute to my insecurity thru the years but let's go passed that to my point now), she has stretchmarks, and me and my brother were only 5 lbs 11 oz and 6 even, and NOT twins. I guess why she wanted me to get them, cause maybe she is insecure with herself, idk, or maybe she was joking, who knows, but my point is, if it's all in genes, then i'd have a ton myself. So i wanna also give some hope to those whose mom's did not fair well during pregnancy. It doesn't mean all hope is lost!

Thanks hun and congrats on your pregnancy. Try to stay positive, grow healthy babies, and enjoy yourself:)

Wow, you give me much hope. Did you use any type of cream or oil? What kind of bidding did you use?
