The boys are 6 months old now but technically only 4 1/2 months. Should I wait to start introducing solid food??

4 months old
by: Valerie

My twins are 4 months old and we started them on rice cereal at 2 months old(mixed in their bottle) and now we are giving them gerber stage 1 fruit and vegies... We had some belly issuse which is why we started the cereal early and then had to switch to the mixed cereal rice was making them worse. Our babies were born 5 weeks early. I think it all just depends on your baby(when they are ready) and what your Dr says. Good luck

4 months being 6 weeks early
by: Anonymous

We started at 4 months and my girls were 6 weeks early. Dr said they were doing everything they needed to do to start them. So we did. Everything went well, until they turned 1, then the refused to eat baby food anymore. Good luck!

Introducing Cereal
by: Meghan

My twins were 6 months (4 months adjusted) when I got the go ahead from my doctor to start them on rice cereal - they only ate a very small amount at breakfast and dinner time at first (they liked it much better when I mixed it with pear juice rather than breast milk). After a few weeks, I gradually added new foods into their diet, one week at a time.

We started solids at 4 months. We started with rice cereal with formula mixed in and then went to Gerber fruits stage 1 and then to Gerber veggies stage 1.

solid foods
by: Jennifer

Started solids at 5 months with cereal mixed with brestmilk. But my girls were full term, born at 38 weeks. I would talk to your DR. see what they say. And you can try and see how they do, if they show no interest then wait. but make sure you start with small amounts... Good luck!

Solids

We started cereal at 4 months mixed with breast milk and then slowly introduced fruits and veggies at about 5 months. By 10 months they refused baby food altogether :-)
