Signs of Twin Pregnancy
by: Mommy of twins

I felt extremely tired, just exhausted after a few weeks. My chest was really sore, even enlarged. I didn't crave anything but my pants were already starting to feel snug- I felt like I was extremely bloated.

I found out I was pregnant the first doctor's appt. which was at 6-8 weeks I think. No blood test was taken but an ultrasound was given -the doctor confirmed the sound of two heart beats. Then I had twin girls at the end of 38 weeks!

late diagnosis
by: Anonymous

I was 6 months along when my twins were diagnosed. My mother was hounding me because I was so FAT at 16 weeks, yet I had actually lost 4 pounds within the first trimester. I was exasperated because my ob/gyn was patting me on the head, assumingI was so ignorant that I was more pregnant than I thought (I knew my exact conception date) When I finally changed dr.s, and insisted on my date of conception, they decided to ultrasound because of the difference in my measurements and timeline. The radiologist actually sid it was possible that I had a fast growing tumor to account for the difference. HA! twins it was.....

I found out when we were 6 weeks along that it was twins because of the high HCG level. Then our first ultrasound confirmed!

For me...

I didn't have my first ultrasound until around 12 weeks that confirmed twins, but at 8 weeks I was already starting to wear maternity clothes. I was not any more nausious than my first pregnancy and was a lot less tired. Ultrasound is the only way to know- everyone and every pregnancy are so different.

my first sign should have been when i went and had blood work done. the estimate how far along you are by the strength of the pregnancy hormone. my regular doctor estimated me to be a lot farther along than what i expected, my husband and I were trying to get pregnant so i had a general idea. when i went for my first ob appointment they did an ultra sound measured the baby and told me i was only 6 to 7 weeks pregnant. i was confused. then he saw the other baby and we had our explanation.

some signs I encountered in early pregnancy with my twins
by: Anonymous

I had extreme morning sickness and nausea to the point that I couldn't keep anything down. I was really tired and my breasts hurt really bad by the time I was 6 weeks along. I am now 26 weeks pregnant and the heartburn is more than you can imagine. I find myself woken up in the middle of the night from it. Sometimes to the point wear it makes me vomit.

Go to your OB/GYN and he/she will do an ultrasound.
