Reaching milestones for twins?

by briana burnside
(hawaii)

My twin babies will be 8 months tomorrow, they were born at 37 and a half weeks 7lbs 10oz and 6 lbs 6 oz. The are completely healthy and the doctor said everything is going great! but they are not crawling and don't want to I can put them down in the crawling position and they get upset they roll and play sit up with support haven't exactly mastered it and I'm worried. Has anyone else had issues like this with their twins. I've been patiently waiting and they cannot sit up on their own or crawl. HELP!

Don't worry...

My twins were born five weeks early, and they have been healthy babies, but they have been slow with some things. There is always an adjustment that you have to make when considering their development since they are twins and if they were premature. So you might just be expecting them to do things based on a singleton's development. I try to honestly assess where mine are developmentally but not become obsessive about whether or not they have problems. You should ask their pediatrician about it and most likely you will be told that they are fine.

MyTwin Boys will be 8 mo tomorrow. They were born at 35w 1d. Baby A has always been the fast one. He preferred standing at 3 mo, sitting up at 4 mo, crawling at 5 mo and pulling up at 5 1/2 mo. He has also been cruising since 6 mo. Baby B on the other hand is mastering the same at about 4-5 weeks after Baby A. Baby B I feel is developing based on his gestational age. Baby A is more chronological age. As long as the pediatrician says they are healthy I wouldnt worry.
