Presto! Two Beautiful Twin Girls!
In a perfect world, a couple tries to have a baby. Perhaps a month goes by...perhaps 3 months go by...but in a short time, they succeed. Presto! They are pregnant! In our world, that just didn't happen.
It turned out that I had a large uterine fibroid that was making things a bit crowded in the "house" of my uterus. However, after a slightly unpleasant surgery, we were given the green light to try again to get pregnant. Oh, how we tried! Finally, after many failed months, we were given one more month to try before we would try some different and assisted fertility treatments. On a whim last December, I bought a pregnancy test. Wouldn't it be cool if I could surprise my husband for his birthday with a positive result?
I didn't hold much hope for it. It's not a perfect world. But, presto! I was pregnant. Six weeks later we headed to the first ultrasound. "There's a baby, " our doc said, "aaaaaaaand there's another baby." We were shocked. Thrilled. Surprised. Amazed. And now, when we look at our two beautiful daughters who were born on July 29, 2008, we still are thrilled, surprised and amazed.
What little blessings with developing big personalities! Presto! Our life has changed doubly for the better!
