Delivery of twins
by: Anonymous

I am 35 weeks and 1 day pregnant with twins. I have a high risk pregnancy due to previous preterm births and complications in pregnancies, but this one has been very healthy. I go to a perinatalogist who said that my twins are in the clear and if I were to go into labor at this point they would just deliver them. They wouldn't even try to stop labor. So far I haven't had any symptoms of going into labor yet. They also told me that if I didn't deliver by 38 weeks that they would induce labor due to the fact that after 38 weeks there is a higher rate of stillbirth in twins. I hope this helps you. Due to deliver my twins on December 21, 2009 via csection.

The Premature Baby
by: Natasha

I have the book "The Premature Baby" it has stats for survival depending on when delievered. It was so nice to have it, because after about 28 weeks the survival increasing greatly. Maybe you can go to you local book store and look at it. Or online, I am not sure about that though. I know of a women who's cervix tried to dilate at 17 weeks, but the doctors caught it. I would say know your fact on preterm labor, and the signs. It will be your best defense in keeping them in. Most doctors say making it to 35 weeks is good. Our girls we 34w2d and were 4lbs 9oz and 4lbs 3oz and stayed in the NICU 7 days. But I was also having contractions at 20 week, labor at 26, then again at 31. Like I said, KNOWLEDGE is POWER!!

Premature identical twin boys
by: Anonymous

Our identical twin boys were born at 32.5 weeks. I developed hellp syndrome. They were in the Nicu for just over one month due to weight. They are now 19 months and healthy and active as ever! Hang in there and get rest. I was so worried and everything turned out great!

Stay positive
by: Jennifer

I delivered my identical twin girls at 38 weeks by scheduled c-section. They were healthy and spent no time in the NICU. Each pregnancy is different and yes twins can come early. But I think it is best for the babies to stay in and bake as long as they can. I'm sure like in our pregnancy that your doctor is watching you very close, I bet they will do what is best for you and your babies.

Don't worry too much.
by: Naty

My twin baby boy/girl were born on 39 weeks and I was induced. I think it is safe for them to be born after 36 weeks (this is what I was told by my doctor). Any time before 34 weeks I believe is too soon. But everyones case solely depends on the individual. I am sure you will be fine. Just take it easy, try not to stress too much, and you'll be fine.

Early Delivery
by: Kristin

Hi there! We delivered via scheduled c-section (which was my choice even though both girls were head down) at 38+2 weeks. I thought we would deliver ealrier, but thank goodness our babies had a different plan. The girls never spent a minute in the NICU and came home with us.
