Our Twins An Unexpected Blessing

After a month of landing a new government job, still under probation, I found out I was pregnant. With many things to consider we decided to have a child, knowing that no matter what we would never be completely ready. A Thousand pounds fell off my back as I walked out of my director’s office, with five months of probation left I was determined to show her I was committed. Nine months later still employed, nothing was happening inside my fifty two inch belly, still no dilation at what we thought was thirty eight weeks. On June 10, 2009 we went in for a scheduled C-Section. One minute apart Rori Alexis, six pounds three ounces and Lani Alise, five pounds six ounces became the loves of our life. After measuring about thirty six weeks they spent nine days in the NICU fighting to breathe.

Now, eight months old and healthy as can be, they are a handful. One minute laughing hysterically then giving you looks that can kill. These two couldn't have come at a better time, now being a stay at home mom I get to enjoy every minute of this blessing in disguise. Now looking back, things do happen for a reason and I couldn’t be more thankful. When things get tough I think to myself and remember, I can always go back to work but I could never redo this twin pregnancy.
