Our twin babies

Our twins Isaaak (Ike) and Lillian (Lillie) were born July 2nd 2008. We found out that we were going to have twins when I was 19 plus weeks. What a shock, and it feels like it's been a whirlwind ever since! Born at almost 38 weeks they were 6lbs 10 oz and 6 lbs 3oz. They were both fairly good babies (compared to my oldest daughter:) but even with "good" babies, you've got your hands more than full when there is two of them (plus a big sister). Ike loved to eat and Lillie loved to sleep and Evie (big sis) loved to "love" the babies, which consisted of waking them up when I finally got them to sleep, and trying to "help" which consisted of carrying them up the stairs to me when they cried (can you say "heart attack"!!). It's pretty much been me and my hubby (who is incredible!) on our own, except for the first 2 weeks when my mom was here to help (I'd had a c-section). It seems like a lot of the people we meet that have twins seem to have help from family that live nearby, so I will say it gets a little discouraging sometimes and I/we feel like I'm not going to make it (especially in the winter). They are 16 months old now, and of course there are good days and bad days (just like anything else) but most of all we LOVE our little blessings and are so overwhelmingly thankful for them!!

P.S. I did take this picture myself...the lady at the one hour photo didn't believe me until I showed her on my camera. We didn't have the money to get their pictures done professionally at the time, so I gave it a try...hard, but fun!!
