Night time feeding twins questions

I have two daughters aged 4 and 7 and am now expecting twins. As I already know how difficult night time feeds are with one infant, I am extremely anxious as to how I will cope. My husband will not be able to help me as he goes to work at 6 and only comes home very late in the evening. We also want him to be able to help our other girls keep in their routine?

How do I feed both at the same time and what do I do if one has a wind. Do I just leave the other one to wait until they can both feed again. I'm planning on bottle feeding.

Be creative!
by: Rasha

just don't worry about it at all, cuz when the babies are infront of U, U will b so creative 2 find solutions 4 all the problems!
I used 2 feed my babies alone at night, and I recommend that U wake them up at the same time 4 feeds, otherwise U will never sleep, cuz newborns need 2 b fed every 2-3 hours, so feed them 2gether.. I used 2 hold one and put the other on a pillow infront of me, and hold the bottles 4 both.. the one I'm holding I hold the bottle 4 him with the same hand that his head is on, and the other with the other hand, and I hold both 2 burp, 1 baby on every shoulder.. it needs lots and lots and lots of work, but God will give U all the strength U need 4 that.. my twins are 11 months now, and they hold their bottles on their own now :)
Good Luck!

FEEDING TWINS
by: Anonymous

THE BEST THING TO DO IS KEEP YOUR BABIES ON THE SAME SCHEDULE. FOR THE FIRST MONTH THEY WILL EAT EVERY 2 HOURS AND THAT'S GOING TO FEEL LIKE A LOT BUT IF ONE WAKES UP FEED HIM OR HER AND ONCE DONE FEED THE OTHER BABY, EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO WAKE THEM. IF BOTTLE FEEDING THEN I SUGGEST THAT YOU GET 2 BOPPY PILLOWS AND IF THEY ARE BOTH AWAKE SIT BETWEEN THEM IN THEIR PILLOWS AND HOLD THEIR BOTTLES. KEEP IN MIND YOUR OLDER KIDS ARE GOING TO WANT TO HELP YOU AS WELL, ACCEPT ANY HELP YOU CAN GET.....THERE WILL BE TIMES YOU ARE GOING TO NEED IT.

Whatever works best for you...
by: Jessica

I understand how getting up with twins at night can seem overwhelming and it may be at first. All I can tell you is what we did but you will find what works best for you. I breast fed both of my twins for 4 weeks and then one of mine had to go on formula but I continued to breastfeed my other one until 10 weeks. Those early weeks of breastfeeding two was rough but it is definitely doable! I did have my husband there to help feed one baby at night while I fed the other one but I'm positive that one person can feed both. I would say you might luck up and have them wanting to eat at different times but remembering back on that (which mine did a few nights) makes me shutter. One would wake up and want to eat and then an hour later the other. So, I started getting them both up to eat if one woke up hungry. However, if you do not have your husband able to help you with those nighttime feedings you could get both bottles ready and either prop your sweet babies up in your lap or on pillows or in two boppies.

However you figure out to feed them will be the right way. My twins are 5 1/2 months old and I fed them at the same time a evenings ago and i felt like SUPERMOM!! They got hungry and the same time and I dind't have help at the time so all I did was put them in their carseats w/ bibs on and sit between them. They ate just fine and I felt like such a multi-tasker.

You can do it! All us twin Mommies are rooting for you!!
