Keeping Twins Together in Daycare/School?

My babies and me on Mother's Day

My twins are 14 months old and will be leaving the "baby room" at their daycare and moving onto the next room very soon. The director of the daycare informed me that my daughter "mothers" over my son during the day, constantly watching over him and checking on him. She thinks that my baby girl would blossom moreso if she were in a class by herself. They have been together since Day 1 and I don't know how I feel about splitting them up at such a young age. They are both doing great and developing perfectly. What are your thoughts or past experiences on keeping twins together in school/daycare vs. splitting them up?
