Love Your Skin

Hi Sweety!

Let me first tell you exactly how a woman's body works. Take for instance a rubber band. If you were to stretch that rubber band out for nine months, there's little to no way that the rubberband will bounce back to what it once was. Our skin is similiar, in a sense, to this type of elasticity. If you are genetically prone to stretchmarks then that becomes a tougher issue (I am). Also, if you have multiple pregnancies these issues will just be intesified each time (not to mention, we stretch more with a twin pregnancy). This is just the skin...under the skin is much more complexed.

Ever tried doing crunches for months after having a baby and to no previal in gaining a six-pack again? Well, again, with multiple pregnancies, much less a twin pregnancy, this becomes a tough issue to handle. Each pregnancy stretches our abdominal walls, twin pregnancies double that stretch. Our abdominal walls don't just restructure themselves. Many women believe that a tummy tuck will just get rid of loose skin but it is actually structured to re-align (sew back) the abdominal walls, loosing the extra skin is just a perk. Crunches will strengthen your core but if you've been trying this for years and with no success, understand this is the reason.

I am no advocate for a tummy tuck, trust me. However, I am sharing this information with you in hopes that you will share it with your husband. Perhaps, to give you both a better appreciation and understanding of how wonderful a woman's body is before AND after giving birth. We, woman, are able to perform a miracle (through God) that no man can.

My suggestion to you is to embrace your body, love your skin. It is this body that carried and birthed a beautiful child. If your husband is that vain about how you should "look" then perhaps he may want to take a deeper look into what fatherhood and marriage actually means. Real men understand this.

I hope for nothing but the best for you. Love you because I know your baby does!!!

Hi there,

diet and excerise is the only thing i can suggest, if its just the skin and not any extra weight, the only thing I can recomend is more core strength workouts....get your abdomen toned more.....it will help only so much with the skin though....if its real bad skin theres not much you can do other than get it cosmetically fixed. But i would try the others first before even going through any of that and only do that for you, not for your hubby!

May I just say your hubby is an ASS!!!!!!...you carried his twin babies which our bodies werent the best designed to do...we are only really meant to carry one. The skin everything left over hurts our feelings as much as it is a joy to know we have carried two special little ones into this world. Your husband should be supporting you! not putting you down....it will take some time before you will get back to feeling like you did pre baby. So he support you in getting to your goal, not just seeing what your body has gone through at the present.

I had twins too and im still in the process of loosing and tightening up my body.... I need to loose 10kg before i get back down to prebaby weight and my skin isnt too bad so i feel quiet lucky...Im not a big girl either...normally weigh 60kg. My husband wants me naked all the time and I simply cant bare it! I hate my body!!!!!!!! its soooo gross at the moment...but im sooo proud at the same time!......even if my husband secretly doesnt like my tummy, he makes me feel less conscience about it and it helps me keep me in the positive that i can get back to where I was....

But your husband needs to see you are still the same beautiful woman you always were...except now you haven given him beautiful children!....he needs to realise the wonderthing and hard thing you have done to give it to him and how your body needs time to recover....it isnt easy carrying twins! and he needs to realise that!

You are beautiful with or without your tummy, you need to believe this first otherwise you will always critise yourself and never think your good enough....happier state of mind, healthier state of body!.

hope that helps

xxxx best of luck with eveyrhting and your new bundles!
