Happy Anniversary - It's Twins!

On my 10th wedding anniversary, I headed to the OB office because as a mother of a 3 & 5 year olds already, I knew that I had become pregnant again. This time I felt much different, the symptoms were stronger and I worried that there was something wrong.
The ultrasound tech, Marianne, was very nice and joked about my extra strong early pregnancy symptoms saying the office had 2 twin pregnancies in the last 2 weeks. I laughed it off,as there have been no twins in any of our families except for a great aunt who's twin boys were born too early and without adequate medical care they did not survive back in the 40's.
So I am shocked as I lay there and clearly see, in my 9th week of pregnancy... 2 tiny babies (well fetuses). Very distinct they seemed on the monitor even to my untrained eyes. I was in wordless shock, my tech was ecstatic and wished me very well. (Easy for her to say). Did I mention I went to the appointment alone? I got to my car and dialed my husband's cell phone with trembling hands. He answered and I began to cry... saying "No, no I am fine, but its twins!". His response was, "Stop joking. Are you OK?, No- twins- your kidding! Stop joking with me!". We were in shock and sort of still are after one year.
I am amazed at how my 114 lb. frame could handle twins during the pregnancy, and credit my endurance and the twins healthiness to God. It was miraculous.. our twins, Girl/Boy.. Whitley and Lincoln were born at about 35 weeks and weighed 6 lbs and 6 lb 15 oz. They were certainly ready to be born and as I went into labor they were transverse so we had a surgical delivery within the hour.
Whitley is the talkative one, learning baby sign language and words like "Mama, Ball, Book" even now. Lincoln is the bigger baby who wants to walk and loves to get into everything.
She is petit and has brown hair/blue eyes, He is long- stout with sandy hair/blue eyes. They really do not look alike even for siblings, and their elder siblings are also very unique compared to each other too.
What a 10th Anniversary gift. Having twins is the most blessed form of exhaustion. Kudo's to all Moms and Dads (grandparents who help) raising multiples. Ours certainly were the biggest surprise of our life and continue to amaze us each day.
