Gestational diabetes in twin pregnancy

I'm 27 weeks pregnant with identical twin girls and I was told I might have pregnancy diabetes cause the first test they did for it was abnormal. So in a week I have to go get like a 3 hour test done again to be certain. Does anyone have any information about pregnancy diabetes? I've never had this before and I am scared and concerned. thank you.

My initial test was abnormal. Went back 2 days later and my test results were normal. Don't worry yourself sick about it!

diabetes in pregnancy

Hi there, i had gestational diabetes when i was pregnant with my twins. Most of the time it can be controlled with diet, however sometimes you have to take medications. It really just all depends on how you eat. I knew it was for the health of my babies so it was no problem for me to eat healthy. Lots of protein and good carbs like whole wheat breads and pastas and no junk like cookies and cakes....:( If after your 3 hr test your sugar is elevated your doctor will talk to you about it and go over your options. Good luck

My first test also came back abnormal and had to take the 3hr one. It came back fine. i guess certain foods can cause your sugar to be high.
