Double Blessings Our Twins

My husband and I had been trying to conceive for 5 years before we were finally blessed with our twin girls. We decided to leave it in the hands of the Lord and at the same time began praying for twins. We had a huge desire to have twins and didn't know why but as I said just continued to pray. After 5 years of marriage we finally conceived. We couldn't have been more excited, so we thought. When it was time to go in for our first ultrasound we didn't know what to expect. As I lay there on the bed, the technician began to explain to us what we were looking at on the screen. He pointed out the flickering which represented our baby girls' heartbeat. Just as he was finishing up I heard my husband speak up. I couldn't believe his next words. He said, " Ummm, excuse me sir. I don't mean to tell you how to do your job or anything but is that another heartbeat off to the side?" The tech was in shock and I was amazed. Not to mention how proud daddy was as we left the office that day. He went in looking for the blessing we had specifically asked God for and there she was. The twin pregnancy was wonderful. I had no pregnancy related symptoms thanks to a book I was reading called "Supernatual Childbirth". If you ever get a chance, you must read about the promises of God and how we as women were created to give birth and so our bodies were created to do all that is necessary to both carry and deliver our babies. I was breezing through enjoying every moment of my pregnancy. It was right at about 7 months that my husband and I went in for a routine check-up with our specialist and expected to leave there and head out for dinner and a movie. Needless to say, that didn't happen. Our doc came back into the room giving us instruction to head straight to the hospital. Of course we asked why and explained that we had a date. Hahaha...he said not tonight you don't. We checked into the hospital and from that point on for the next 8 weeks I was placed on strict bed rest in that lonely room I had to now call home.

My cervix had begun to thin out and they were afraid that any pressure could cause the girls to come early. The hardest part of that hospital stay was watching my husband leave every night to head home. He offered ever night to stay with me but of course I knew he needed to rest for work so I sent him on his way and cried later. I did learn to appreciate the wonderful time of rest that I had been blessed with in preparation for the coming of our angels. It was much needed. I was released at week 35 after 8 weeks of rest and didn't head home but straight to Olive Garden :o) That was the best meal ever! We went home and began to prepare. a couple of days later we went in for our OB visit which went well and a few days after that went back to the specialist.

He informed us that we would be induced in the morning. Wow! That happened a little fast. We prayed that night that I would go into labor before heading to the hospital so they wouldn't have to induce. I slept like a baby that night and in the morning we headed out early to check in to the hospital for the much anticipated arrival of our angels. When we arrived they did a routine check and to our surprise we were already dilated to 5cm. Of course they asked me if I had felt the contractions because I was already in labor. Nope, nothing. God is awesome! They went ahead and induced the rest of labor and I was in labor for about another hour when I dilated to a 10. We were ready! I remember pushing for 15 minutes and watching my first daughter arrive. Daddy couldn't contain himself. he was taking pictures like crazy. The doctor had to remind him that there was still another one and he needed to get back over to me.....hahaha. Exactly 15 minutes later our second daughter arrived. It was quick, painless and the most wonderful experience of my life. The girls are now 3 1/2 and we couldn't be more blessed. They are truly a blessing. The girls are fraternal twins, not to mention best friends. At birth Michal was 4lb 11oz and Christel was 5lb 3oz. Beautiful and healthy!

It was so good hearing your story my husband and I have been trying for 5 years but only been having faith in the manner for a year. We have only put it in God's hands for about 7 months. After reading your story it has given me hope and I think you for sharing. I have even picked out they're names. In the bible it says call things as if there were so, I'am calling Madison and Morgan my future twin girls as if there are already to come! Please keep us all in your prayers. Thank you.

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see” (Hebrew 11:1). .
