okay so my twins are 9 months old. One is crawling and pulling herself up, then the second one isnt even rolling over. Is this normal? Is one twin usually slower?

Of Course Not!

Hi Crystal,

They are two adorables! I can not say enough, they are their own little person with totally different personalities. From birth to about 3 years old, they will learn pretty much on their own time frames. Enjoy this age, give them a lot of love and be patience. Mine just grew up way too fast, and they are 8 years old now.

Even though they are twins, they are their own person and will develop differently. We forget this sometimes. They will not do things at the same time. One may develop faster with gross motor skills while the other develops faster with fine motor skills.

Twin parents!! Lets remember, all though our twins are TWINS, they are their own person. They will not do things at the same time.

Totally normal. They are different babies. My babies learned things at a different time. My girl being faster in some things than the boy & vice versa. If you have any worries, you should always consult your doctor. Hoped I helped in some way!!

I don't know that I would actually say that this is normal or abnormal but it is the case with many twins, as it is with mine and as it is in singleton pregnancy's. ALL children develop at their own rate and in THEIR own time and that holds true for twins as well :) I was in the same situation a few months back and they are both doing fine .... If you are still very concerned about ones gross motor you could always have them evaluated by a developmental specialist, as I did. Looking back, I should have just let the other develop at the rate in which they were ready and I would have saved myself alot of stress and worrying! :)
