diaper advice for expectant twin parents

Good Advice I got on diapers:
The first thing I read was to buy diapers every week until I had the twins. Then I talked to several parents of twins and they said not to buy diapers because you just don't know what they will need, you may buy too much of a size or the diapers don't work well. They said instead to buy a gift card each time you go to the store. So each week when we go to WalMart to do our grocery shopping I tack on a 40.00 gift card, label with the date, and file in the cabinet. This way you can buy what works best when they arrive and if you decide to go with a service you can use the cards for other needs like wipes, formula,or even just groceries to help with cost for daycare, etc.
We have already collected a ton of cards, I hope this is a helpful hint.
