Chances of twins after miscarrying twins?

by Jennifer
(Nova Scotia, Canada)

I miscarried identical twins 6 months ago at about 13 weeks. I would like to know what my chances of getting pregnant with twins again? I think I am pregnant again now (very early). The twins were the second time I lost a pregnancy and am very nervous about losing the pregnancy again, but would love it if they were twins again. What are my chances of twins? I am 33 years old and currently have no children.

NOT A "FEAK OF NATURE"

I lost twins also. One at 5 weeks and the other at 7 weeks. I had no idea i was pregnant with twins until i had the ultrasound done to confirmthat i was having a miscarraige. I knew the probability of me having twins was hi since my family has a strong history of identical twin boys so there for i firmly believe that having identical twins IS NOT "a freak of nature."

not impossible

If you are someone who has trouble carrying babies, then you don't want a twin pregnancy. They are soooo stressful and high risk. Just getting one healthy baby is hard enough.

Do you know that identical twins are just "freaks of nature" and that there is no rhyme or reason behind their conception? With that being said, the chances are slight but not impossible.

I just gave birth to my second set of twins. The first were identical boys (born at 30 weeks)with one passing away after 16days due to a heart abnormality from IUGR. Then a year later, at 33 years old, I conceived fraternal girls. There were no fertility treatments nor family history of twinning.

So, the chances are there......but be careful what you wish for :)
