boy and girl twins sleeping together?

by beca williams
(canada)

I have 20 month old boy and girl twins that I needed to switch them from crib to bed. I am finding they are trying to sleep with each other.. should I encourage that or should I continue to separate them or even make them sleep in separate rooms all together.. any advice would be much appreciated. thx

by: beca

just to give you an idea.. at first i had them in a cradle together.. but found out they wanted more room to stretch.. so we put them in separate cribs but in the same room and they were quite happy with that.. but all kids r different :) good luck twins rock!!

CO Sleeping

We are also expecting twins and plan on having them initially sleep in one crib. I was wondering if you had a divider in the crib. If not how did you position them in the crib

Any help would be very much appreciated!!
Thanks!!!

Co-sleeping
by: Destry

I would let them continue to sleep together. I think at some point they will not want to anymore. Probably when they are a little older and if they start to bother each other. I would think of it as how you and your husband sleep together. You don't even have to be touch ing but just knowing that person is right next to you relaxes me. Especialy when they are that young they could get scared to be alone especially at night so it is nice to have someone there to comfort them.

co-sleeping boy/girl twins
by: Jenn

I have identical twin girls that are 14.5 months old. They have been co-sleeping in the same crib since they were born. We hae thought about seperating them, but they are doing very well and love sleeping together. When one wakes up in the middle of the night for some reason, we put that one in our bed and like clock work not more than 15 minutes later the other baby is up and want ing to go lay with her sister... it is very cute! We know they will share a room, as they grow but we have also decided that they can share a bed as long as they want as well.

I see no problem, with your twins sharing a bed and a room. They shared a womb for 9 months and are comforable together. Im sure they will out grow it as they get older and are into their own things. I think it is ok for you to just go with it.

how sweet.........
by: Kristin

I would let them sleep together for now. I don't think there is anything wrong with it right now especially if they are more comfortable with each other.
