babbling concern with twins?

by Shanon
(Lebanon, IN)

Hello!
I am a first time mom with natural identical twin boys (my husband is also an identical twin!) and I am concerned because my boys are 7 months old and do not babble that much. They smile a lot and fuss a lot, but they do not laugh out loud or babble that much. Should I be concerned or should I give them more time?

They were born at 35weeks and 5 days. In the NICu for 10 days. They do laugh but not as much as others babies.

Hi there you didnt mention if your twins were born early or not, because it does make a difference to their dev. at that age. Mine were born 6 weeks early and it seems like nothing compared to some of the preemies that were in the nursery with them but it did make a difference to the ages they started doing things, my twins also I.D boys, at the age of 7 months were probably not cracking up laughing all the time but they did laugh and it seemed like it took forever to get a smile out of them (it was at 4 months) but they are happy healthy boys (now aged 16months) who have reached their developmental milestones some on time and some way off, it is probably worth getting a checkup for your own peace of mind.

i think u should tell your doctor about this. My twins are 2 months 1/2 old and they goo goo gah gah and do all that other baby talking. Mine also smile A LOT!! Yours are 7 months already, they should be laughing.
