Adorable Twins Isabelle and Gage

I have a gene in my family that is supposed to skip a generation. I am 1 of 6 children. Being afraid to have children at an early age I waited until I was 27 to start trying. When I finally found out that I was pregnant I was excited, in the back of my mind I was thinking that maybe a set of twins. My grandma had a set and I knew that there was a possibility. I was the last of my siblings to get pregnant.

So when going for the ultrasound at four months, I asked the tech to first thing check and make sure that there is not two in there. She says yeah, there are in fact two. She says "let me go get someone, i've never dealt with twins". Immediately I started crying and cussing, I had just gotten used to the idea of one and now all of a sudden I was to have two. What??? This was just unreal to me. Wow, the lady stated that there was a girl. She measured her, all was well. Then to the second baby, a boy. Can this really be true. They stated that the boy was a couple days older based on the measurements. I had dropped two eggs.

The first thing I did was call the siblings and let them know. Most of the conversations went like, Okay what are you gonna have. I would say something like one of each. The reaction was stun from everyone. When delivering I had almost made it to 38 weeks. The agony and pain that I was in forced me to want them out now. They were healthy and beautiful. I felt as if I had hit the lotto big time. Then 364 day after I had my set of twins, my younger sister had also had a set of fraternal twins. But, unlike me she had two boys. I told her that is what she gets for trying to steal my thunder. LOL, two sets of twins from two siblings. What are the chances. They are beautiful and have lived a mostly doctor free existance until now. They will be 5 in December. My little blessing times two.
