All Because of the Banana Cream Pie

My due date for my adorable boy/girl twins was October 13, 2009. Lo and behold they had other plans! On September 11 my husband I went out to dinner for what we thought was going to be one of our last dinners out in quite awhile. Boy were we right! After dinner I had banana cream pie for dessert and I swear that's what got the ball rolling. Earlier that day I had been in to see my OB and I wasn't even a fingertip dilated. Good news. After dinner I started having cramping so I called my OB. She told me it was my call on whether or not to come in. I decided I'd rather be safe than sorry. My husband and I loaded the truck and away we went. Well after we had to stop for gas and then a train, of course. I thought I was going to have these babies in my car! When we were almost to the hospital I was in a lot of pain and my husband looks at me and goes "Are you really in pain or are you just being dramatic?" I could have punched him. They hooked me up to the monitors once at the hospital and my contractions looked very minor. I thought I was being a baby and that this pain must be minor. They did an internal exam and I was 8cm dilated! All because of banana cream pie! My husband got quite the "I told you so" lecture after that! They rushed me into surgery because my lower baby was breach. By 12:44a.m. September 12, I was staring my beautiful little boy right in his big blue eyes. A minute later his sister came out screaming her tiny little head off. They were 5 1/2 weeks early and perfect in every way! They went home with me 4 days later. Now I have two healthy 5 month old babies that I can't get enough of.
