Nervous NEW
by: Anonymous

I'm 28 years old and I'm 7 weeks 4 days and found out at 7 weeks I was having twins. Both had strong heart beats (high 120's, mid-high 130's). I found out about the "vanishing twin" and now I'm nervous, but trying to stay calm so I'm as healthy and safe as I can be. I know anything can happen at anytime, but this is my first pregnancy so given all of the above info, are my chances of vanishing twin or mc less likely to happen based on all of that? Just looking for some reassuring info or others who have been given more info on this.

Twins with difference is heart rate per minute
by: JSL

Hello ladies,

First of all, congratulations to all of you! I am very new to this. Have never blogged or participated in forums. But this looked relevant and so...why not?

I am 38 yrs of age and now 7 weeks and 1 day pregnant with fraternal twins. We conceived with the help of IVF. Was I second round. The first ended in a miscarriage at 8 weeks. I feel quite different with this pregnancy. It feels stronger for some reason but not sure if its just me being hopeful.

I had ultra sound done yesterday and the twins were so visible and have grown double the size in 4 days since my last US. However, the heart rates are so different. One is at 152PM and the other 91PM. I am worried.

Has anyone had a baby that started with a slow heartbeat and picked up? My doctor says it happens.

Looking forward to any response! Thank you ladies!

Nervous!!!
by: Amy

I am 7 weeks pregnant with twins! We are so excited and nervous at the same time. My first pregnancy I had a MC, but had two successful pregnancies after. Every pregnancy I am nervous and scared I will have a MC. So far everything seems to be going well, despite being exhausted and the morning sickness. I am terrified about "Vanishing Twin." I pray throughout the day and night that everything will be fine.

Congratulations to all!!!!

almost 8 weeks along & oddest thing.....but thought I would share :)
by: Anonymous

I personally am convinced that I am having twins LOL For a few reasons.....One being that a mother usually has a feeling of what her baby is going to be, no feeling here whatsoever.....not a girl or boy feeling. Another when I was pregnant with my first an older man out of nowhere told me and my husband that he saw twins in our future, weird right? Another is because of the silly needle and thread gender test--I got twins when I did it (Girl & Boy). I am almost 8 weeks along but most certainly showing (I started of at a size 6).....my first appt is next Friday so we will see then what I am measuring at. I am rediculousy tired but that could also have something to do with having two toddlers running around and nursing school (which is finally over in one more short week!) I do know you may show sooner with a second pregnancy but really this early?? I had these weird cramps too with this pregnancy (in my lower back, abdomen and thighs) I was told it is just my uterus stretching, don't you think it would have done this with my first pregnancy if anything. I have been nauseated 24/7 but really only threw up once. Hmmm I really just don't what to think, just wait I suppose :)

8 weeks pregnant with twins
by: Jessica

I am now 8 weeks pregnant with twins. My grandma had 3 sets of them! The only symptom I have is mild cramping, as though I am on my period, but not as harsh. No nausea! My breast are just a little tender--not as bad as they were with my first pregnancy. I started spotting at 7 weeks (some bright red blood), but not enough to saturate a pad. Turns out...a lot of women spot (or bleed) during pregnancy, especially with twins. So, if this happens to you, don't jump to conclusions (i.e. miscarriage). Just go to the doctor and get checked out. I am still in the danger zone, but I am praying that everything works out just fine. Good luck to all!

7 weeks pregnant with twins
by: Veronica

I am 7 weeks pregnant & look like I'm 3-4 months. With my other pregnancies, I still had a flat stomach. This is cool. Also I am having weird cravings, such as ketchup (alone). I have never been a fan of ketchup, but I am loving the stuff. I sit on my couch with ketchup in a bowl & eat it with my finger. My friend just laugh & gag at the same time. She thinks I'm disgusting (lol). When I get moody, eating ketchup sooths me.

7 weeks slightly showing!
by: Carol

Hi all I found out I was Pregnant with fraternal twins on Monday! I am already finding my clothes tight! I am so exhausted and so excited all at once. I am also terrified of vanishing twin syndrome and pray every night it won't happen. I'm 28 yrs old and we conceived naturally first time no help. I'm hoping my age will help with this pregnancy. I saw the two hearts beating and the sacs were the same size my doctor says it's all good signs but not to get too excited just yet as anything can happen it's still early days. Please god the twins are safe! Good luck to all the moms to be here! X

I am so glad I found this website. I found out 6 days ago that I am pregnant with twins for my first time. I have no twins on either side of my family and my husband has no twins either. The doctors found this to be crazy but I guess it does happen. My sickness is out the walls, I want to take a 30 min nap about 3 times a day. Everything is going in a direction no expected! Thanks everyone!

I just found out yesterday that I am expecting twins! I have to say though, I'm so glad I found this website and am glad to know that I'm not the only one who has already needed to buy a couple new pairs of pants because all my other ones don't fit anymore. Wasn't really surprised that I was having twins, because already showing the way I am and it being my first (so I can't even use the whole "you show more with your second" excuse). I am soo in love and it's only been a few weeks!! Good luck to everyone!

You ladies don't knwo how happy I am to hear others are going thru the same thing as I am. I am 7 weeks and finding that things are tight. I feel silly buying maternity clothes mostly becuase the women I work with made it to 4,5 and even 6 months before getting new clothes! I have also been warned of the high risked of miscarriage. I am very worried. I just found this website and I am excited to read and lean about other's stories.

Pregnant with twins 12weeks
by: Anonymous

Hi all im pregnant with twins found out when i was 7weeks, got a shock but very excited and scared at the same time, my son is only 14months so when the twins are born ill have three babies under the age. That is very scary wondering how i will manage the two babies, but im lucky as my husband is very good, he will help out. Iv check lots of webpages about advise and information but cant find a good one, Any ideas, when will i be called for my next scan, im am showing already, my jeans are not too tight for me so iv gone back to my maternity clothes again. Havent told too many people only family, so its getting harder to hide. The doctor the gave me my first scan has frighten the life out of me, saying there is such a high risk of miscarraige, and not to be lifting my son, which is very hard not to do, (any one else been told this, and could it really hurt my twins) Do you all find ye are eatting alot more, im very lucky as i havent had any morning sickness. but i didnt either with my son, but i suffered with kidney infections, the last three months, was very sick with them. Is anyone else getting very tired, i have been totally shattered every evening.

by: sharon

Hi there I am preg. with my third child,I am 7weeks preg.now and am only due for a scan next month (july 2010) but I cant understand that I am visibly showing allready. I am not skinny but the change in how I use to look like and what I am looking like right now is compl. different, I am actually wondering if I am not expecting my fourth one aswell. I do not have any nausea or craving yet, something I had very early in my preg. with both my previous preg. I read that almost everyone says it is that you are bloated when you are showing, but will your bump be hard? I am honestly mind boggled.
Goodluck to all the future mommies out there.

by: Anonymous

Okay so my sis-inlaw sent me a picture of how BIG she is at 7wks.... she has always been over weight and has poor eating habits.. and she has diabetes. She looks like me at 6months prego... She thinks just bc she is showing A LOT she has twins or triplets or more.... Is this possible that she could be showing so early, or is it the poor eating causing a larger belly.... I guess we will find out on wednesday when she has her first ultrasound.

Hi everyone!! I am 8 weeks and am showing, So I imagine it all depends on the person. I have had 3 other children and never showed until I was due. Well this pregnancy has been crazy!! I look about 15 to 18 weeks and measure 15 so everyone is diffferent. Be patient and it will come. Congrats on your twin pregnancy and wish you the best of luck.

Hi Jesica – I’m a nurse at Texas Children’s hospital...specializing in twin pregnancies. Most of the mommies-to-be that I work with show anywhere from 15-20 weeks. Also, just remember that twin pregnancies are different than singletons. I wrote an article about special questions you need to make sure to ask your doctor. The link is below. Congratulations! And please feel free to contact me if you have any questions at all! - Karen (twitter: http://twitter.com/tttsRN) http://www.expectantmothersguide.com/library/houston/top-5-questions-expecting-moms-of-multiples-should-ask.htm

Everyone is differnt, just go look at all the twin bellies. Look at all the 32 week pictures, and all the 34 week pictures. They will ALL be different. I was a cheerleader for many years, so I got a little bump below my hips at about 8 weeks, but stayed that way until i was about 22 weeks, then I POPED out! Just know everyone is different, and size does not show how big your babies will be! GOOD LUCK!!!!

I started wearing maternity clothes around 20wks, although I wasn't looking forward to my bump, if I wanted to, I think I could have worn maternity clothes 5-6wks earlier. I worn my windbreaker a lot and layered my clothes, the only people who would have known were close friends/family.

I needed a bella-band week 8 for my pants. I was in maternity shirts week 10. I was in maternity pants week 14. Right now, I am 33 weeks along, and I am measuring at 50 weeks....By this time, I have gone up from an x-small in maternity shirts to a large...I'll probably need x-large in the next couple weeks!
